about

Alive in Me is about my wife Laura. We have many interests in common. Once of which is a mutual love for King Diamond / Mercyful Fate. Years ago, one of the first places I actually got to hang out with her was a Celtic bar in Grand Rapids, Mi called The Black Rose. Coincidentally, King Diamond's first band was called Black Rose.

When I was writing this song, I kinda wanted to capture a bit of an old Mercyful Fate kinda vibe on the verses. Its basically a really epic, bouncy electronic metal love song to my wife complete with some really heavy parts and cool segues. I even make a reference to the Black Rose in the lyrics when I say "September night at the Black Rose, Where you found me, You said you knew I was the one". I'm just sick of traditional "ballads" and wanted to do a cool love type song on my own terms without it being cheesy. What we captured on this was dead on the money. — Klank

lyrics

I can't explain the way you penetrate my skin
I can't describe the way that you move me
Yes you move me
Just like a drug I feel you pulsing deep within
Your warming touch, I find it soothes me, yes it soothes me.

Alive
Alive in me
So alive
Alive in me

I've never felt this way before and won't again
It's written in the stars above me
Up above me
You're even more than I could have hoped and dreamed
Since the day you said you loved me
Yes you loved me

Alive
Alive in me
So alive
Alive in me

September night at the Black Rose
Where you found me
You said you knew I was the one.
Yeah the one
So put your hand in mine and lets walk amongst the stars
Higher than every single one
Every one

Alive
Alive in me
So alive
Alive in me
